Grandma's Pumpkin Patch was planted on May 26. Four to five seeds were planted in 8 mounds. Pumpkins are planted on mounds to allow the soil to warm more quickly which encourages the seeds to germinate faster and roots grow deeper.

It is interesting to see the different sizes of Pumpkin seeds. The seeds on the left are Big Moon seeds, the largest pumpkin planted, and the seeds on the right are Jill Be Little, the smallest pumpkins.

After the seeds are planted, the mounds are given a good watering.
